Drawing upon its experience as a leading manufacturer of backcountry rescue sleds, Brooks-Range developed the Eskimo Rescue Sled. The Eskimo Rescue Sled is designed as a foolproof one-piece-only sled ("drag bag") for ski guides, backcountry skiers and travelers who need a reliable, but simple rescue sled to bring an injured person out of the backcountry. Like the original Eskimo sleds, the Brooks-Range Eskimo Rescue Sled is made with lightweight but durable material that moves easily over snow and ice.
There is no assembly required that can slow down a mountain rescue scenario. The Eskimo Sled can be used with both, one or no skis, positioned under or alongside the patient. The Eskimo Sled is designed with a center of gravity, aiding stability.
The patient is protected by water resistant, breathable snow guard from rope abrasion and snow drift and may be transported while prone or sitting. The Eskimo Sled has both front and back tow loops, as well as eight head and side handles to carry patient.
The Eskimo Sled can also be used for a multiple of other purposes, bivy sack, a gear sled or an emergency shelter.
